Sparta Community Hospital's Coding Department plays a vital role in managing patient medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare, ethical, legal, and regulatory standards. Organizing, managing, and reporting patient data per health standards, following the healthcare industry's numerical coding system. By doing so, the Coding Department plays a vital role in fulfilling the Organization's mission to provide exceptional healthcare services to the community. Coding technicians collect, organize, summarize, and encode patient data using standardized classification systems in hospitals and physician offices.
The Coding Team verifies patient records for accuracy and completeness. Accurately reflects the physician's final diagnosis and procedures based on the care given. Reviews records to verify adherence to criteria for third-party reimbursement agencies and screening standards.
