Position Summary:
Sparta Community Hospital, a Critical Access Hospital located in Southern Illinois, an hour from St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking a board certified, or board eligible, Family Medicine provider who is passionate about exceptional patient care and interested in a traditional Family Medicine practice. As a part of the Quality Healthcare Clinic team at Sparta Community Hospital, primary care physicians provide the full scope of health and wellness services, including diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventative care, and health maintenance to patients. Physicians also serve as leaders with the patient centered medical home model and work collaboratively with the care team to ensure that each patient receives the best possible care.
This position allows the opportunity to collaborate with a team and be empowered by administration. A successful candidate should have an excellent bedside manner with an ability to put patients at ease during treatment. Ultimately, the candidate should have a strong knowledge base and a dedication to the general health and well-being of patients.
Education & Training:
Must be an MD /DO, licensed in the State of Illinois, who has successfully completed medical school education and residency programs. Must show education, training, and experience related to medical staff privileges. A minimum of 16-hours of Pediatric Continuing Education every two-year period.
Experience:
- Three (3) years of experience as an MD /DO preferred but not required.
- Family practice and/or emergency department experience preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience from comparable knowledge and abilities may be acquired and will be considered.
Licensure:
- Current license to practice medicine in the State of Illinois required.
- Current controlled substance license in the State of Illinois required.
- Current DEA Certification with Illinois Address required.
Skills:
- CPR, ACLS, & PALS certifications; and
- Demonstrates required computer skills; and
- Current knowledge of CPT- E/M coding, HCC coding; HCPC’s; and ICD-10 coding principles
