Agronomist
Sparta Co-op Services provides inputs and services that improve agricultural productivity for our customers. Our services include seed, seed treatments, fertilizer, application services and crop protection products. This position will make recommendations that are in the best interest of our customer to become a trusted agronomy professional that gives the customer their best opportunity to be profitable in an ever changing ag environment.
Job duties:
We are searching for someone to work in our Agronomy department as the staff Agronomist. This person will need to have or be able to obtain the following; Certified Crop Advisor (CCA), CDL and Commercial Pesticide Applicators License.
1. Seed, fertilizer and crop protection sales and recommendations.
2. Field scouting.
3. Soil sampling.
4. Handling bags of seed and fertilizer.
5. Seed treatment.
6. Nutrient Management planning.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. 2 or 4 year degree in Agronomy, Soils/Soil Science, Crop Science or related field.
2. Sales and service oriented.
3. Ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals from farmers, land owners, and back yard gardeners.
4. Excellent driving record.
5. Ability to read field maps.
6. Ability to work without direct supervision.
7. Perform tasks following safety standards.
8. Have or ability to obtain CDL and Pesticide Applicators License.
9. Ability to work extended hours during planting and harvest seasons.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
