Agronomy/Grain Operations Employee
Sparta Co-op Services provides inputs and services that improve agricultural productivity for our customers. Our services include seed, seed treatments, fertilizer, application services, crop protection products, grain handling and grain storage.
Job duties:
We are searching for someone to work in both our Agronomy and Grain departments. This person will need to have or be able to obtain both their CDL and Commercial Pesticide Applicators License. Since the workload of this person will change with the season a range of work duties applies;
1. Operation of both dry fertilizer and spray application equipment.
2. Delivery of dry and liquid fertilizer.
3. Seed and herbicide delivery.
4. Handling bags of seed and fertilizer.
5. Maintenance and basic repair of trucks and equipment.
6. Grain handling (hauling, drying, loading and unloading).
7. Operation of tractors, fertilizer spreaders, floater trucks etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. High school diploma, or equivalent, and experience in operating large equipment.
2. Mechanically inclined.
3. Agricultural background helpful.
4. Excellent driving record.
5. Ability to read field maps.
6. Ability to work without direct supervision.
7. Perform tasks following safety standards.
8. Have or ability to obtain CDL and Pesticide Applicators License.
9. Ability to work extended hours during planting and harvest seasons.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
