Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Avionics Technician with a background in working on MD-11 aircraft systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems to ensure the aircraft’s performance meets safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Avionics Technician, including significant experience with MD-11 aircraft.
- In-depth knowledge of MD-11 avionics systems, including autopilot, communication, and flight control systems.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in avionics and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret avionics schematics, technical manuals, and service bulletins.
- Familiarity with avionics testing equipment and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on avionics systems specific to MD-11 aircraft, including communication, navigation, and flight control systems.
- Troubleshoot avionics malfunctions and use diagnostic tools to ensure optimal functionality.
- Install, inspect, and calibrate avionics components, including autopilot systems, radar, and flight data systems.
- Work with wiring schematics, technical manuals, and aircraft documentation to complete repairs in compliance with FAA regulations.
- Conduct regular system tests, inspections, and adjustments to ensure operational safety and compliance with technical specifications.
- Document maintenance activities, parts used, and any issues found in maintenance logs.
- Collaborate with other maintenance teams and departments to support aircraft readiness.
- Stay current with updates in avionics technology and regulatory changes through continued professional development.
