Avionics Technician
Position Summary:
We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-driven Avionics Technician to join our aviation maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft electrical and electronic systems. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or FAA Part 147 program preferred.
- Minimum of 1 years of avionics experience in general aviation, commercial, or military aircraft.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and standard industry practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and meet physical demands of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) or Repairman Certificate.
- Experience working in a Part 145 repair station or MRO environment.
- Knowledge of modern aircraft systems (e.g., glass cockpits, ADS-B, TCAS).
- Military aviation background a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems and components.
- Work on communication, navigation, autopilot, weather radar, flight management systems, and other electronic systems.
- Perform operational checks and verify proper system functionality using test equipment.
- Interpret and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, maintenance manuals, and technical data.
- Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies.
- Document maintenance actions accurately and submit required paperwork.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces in hangars and on the flight line.
- Collaborate with other technicians and departments to support timely aircraft delivery and maintenance schedules.
Work Environment:
This position may require working in hangars, on ramps, and around active aircraft. Exposure to noise, vibrations, and moving equipment should be expected.
