CAD/CAM Programmer

Job Title: Full-Time CAD/CAM Programmer

Job Description: Sparta Steel is seeking an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in CNC/CAM programming and metalworking. You will be responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs to ensure efficient and accurate production processes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize CAD/CAM programs for CNC machines using OmniWin, a proprietary software developed for Messer Cutting Machines.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Ensure parts are accurately created and nested efficiently.
• Provide completed part files/nestings promptly to the sales staff to facilitate quick and accurate estimates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Manage and maintain the job schedule to ensure jobs are completed by or before the due date. This includes direct coordination with the Sales and Shipping departments and distributing a daily report outlining the expected cut schedules.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in CNC/CAM programming and metalworking is required.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).
• Strong understanding of machining operations and G-code programming.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday
• 8-hour shifts (Some overtime may be required)
