Youth Community Action Program Counselor

Sparta White County Family YMCA in Sparta, TN is looking for one youth community action program counselor to join our team. We are located on 123 Moore Street. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and hard-working.

Responsibilities

*Supervises participants and volunteers *Be the catalyst for a welcoming environment *Stays alert to the changing needs of the program *Build relationships with participants and their families by showing an interest in the participants well being *Notify the YCAP Coordinator of any issues that arise that impact the best interest of the participant. *Reports any concerns to the YCAP Coordinator about participants, parents, or volunteers as needed. *Reports any suspected child abuse or neglect *Utilizes appropriate software to check in/out participants *Ensures that unused rooms and closets remain locked; routinely monitors high risk locations *Reports any suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations *Ability to complete incident/accident forms

Qualifications

*Minimum 20 years of age *Previous experience supervising youth *Ability to pass a level 2 background screening before first day of reported work *CPR/First Aid (YMCA will provide within 30 days of employment) *Praesidium training basic level (YMCA will provide within 30 days of employment)

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $12.00/hour.
