Position Description:
The operations manager is responsible for the overall operational success of the company’s Ellenwood (South Atlanta) FedEx route business, running 7 routes per day on average. We are looking for an experienced FedEx operations manager (BC) who has a high attention to detail, self-motivated, effective problem solver and positive attitude. In order to excel, you must be able to drive the success of the business in 3 main areas: personnel management, vehicle and technology management, meeting FedEx’s service levels.

FedEx requirements:
- Must maintain a clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical
Qualifications:
- 3 years of management experience with 1.5 years within FedEx (preferably working as an operations manager for another ISP).
- Working knowledge of DRO (RouteSmart), GroundCloud, scanner use, Excel, Gmail/email
Duties & Responsibilities - General:
- Handle all aspects of day-to-day operations to ensure smooth dispatch and completion of all routes.
- Look at DRO (RouteSmart optimization software) the evening before and prepare route assignments.
- Review Daily Service Worksheet (DSW) and get explanation of why packages weren’t delivered.
- Responsible for creating and implementing contingency plans.
- Act as liaison to terminal management (FedEx P&D managers, belt managers, etc.).
- Responsible for all written communication to company staff and FedEx staff.
Duties & Responsibilities - Personnel:
- Source, hire, train, motivate and terminate drivers.
- Handle and complete all aspects of new employee on-boarding (paperwork, training)
- Ensure a safety first culture. Monitor and track necessary driver safety training.
- Document employee infractions (absentees, tardiness, accidents, service issues, etc.).
- Responsible for all employee scheduling, and handling of backup staffing should a driver not show.
- Enforcing staff uniform requirements.
- If short on drivers during a specific day, will need to be able (and willing) to run a route for the day.
Duties & Responsibilities – Vehicles and Technology:
- Maintain operational condition of all vehicles, ensuring all vehicles are safe to drive each day.
- Schedule regular vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Inspect and enforce the cleanliness of all trucks.
- Each morning, ensure all scanners and iPads are working and fully charged, and that the necessary charging cables are in the cab of all trucks.
Compensation:
- $800 - $1,000 per week salary, depending on experience.
Job Type: Full-time
