Summary Description
Working as the Maintenance Technician at Spartan Chemical Company, you will perform the preventative and reactive maintenance duties required for a manufacturing facility. Priorities of the Maintenance Technician include the execution of PM schedules and repair of any equipment that is needed. This is a 2ndShift position and requires the flexibility to work 40 hours per week.
Duties/Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently
- Perform general plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning repairs to the facility’s equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot, fabricate and perform repairs on machines and their controls.
- Consult blueprints or building plans to identify best solutions to resolve systems or equipment issues.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure that plumbing, electrical and heating systems continue operating properly.
- Contact, specify and order replacement parts and control components as needed.
- Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts
- Perform general cleaning tasks in and around the facility.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Ability to work with CMMS System.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills
- Thorough knowledge of general plumbing and electrical (up to 480V).
- Ability to read blueprints, building plans and repair manuals.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Basic knowledge of forklift repairs.
Employment Standards
Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience Two to Five (2-5) years' experience in related field preferred.
Skills Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Must be physically able to climb ladders and have full range of body motion.
