Summary Description

Working as the Maintenance Technician at Spartan Chemical Company, you will perform the preventative and reactive maintenance duties required for a manufacturing facility. Priorities of the Maintenance Technician include the execution of PM schedules and repair of any equipment that is needed. This is a 2ndShift position and requires the flexibility to work 40 hours per week.

Duties/Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently
• Perform general plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning repairs to the facility’s equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot, fabricate and perform repairs on machines and their controls.
• Consult blueprints or building plans to identify best solutions to resolve systems or equipment issues.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure that plumbing, electrical and heating systems continue operating properly.
• Contact, specify and order replacement parts and control components as needed.
• Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts
• Perform general cleaning tasks in and around the facility.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
• Ability to work with CMMS System.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills
• Thorough knowledge of general plumbing and electrical (up to 480V).
• Ability to read blueprints, building plans and repair manuals.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Basic knowledge of forklift repairs.

Employment Standards

Education High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience Two to Five (2-5) years' experience in related field preferred.

Skills Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Must be physically able to climb ladders and have full range of body motion.

Temperatures are taken at entry doors to ensure no one has a fever when they enter the building. Hard surfaces are cleaned multiple times throughout the day. Hand sanitizer is located throughout the building for employees use.
