Summary

The Vice President of Financial Aid will lead and oversee all financial aid operations across multiple campuses for a Spartan Education Group. This position ensures the institution's compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation regulations while delivering efficient and student-centered financial aid services. The VP of Student Finance will provide strategic leadership, implement best practices, and monitor the daily operational functions to achieve institutional goals.

Essential Functions

Leadership and Oversight

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Financial Aid Department across all campuses
  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics to ensure operational excellence and compliance
  • Lead, mentor, and develop financial aid staff to deliver exceptional service and results

Regulatory Compliance

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Title IV regulations, state financial aid policies, and accreditor requirements
  • Ensure all processes, reporting, and documentation align with federal, state, and institutional policies
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of audits, program reviews, and annual compliance reports
  • Implement corrective action plans following internal or external reviews
  • Operations Management

  • Develop and standardize financial aid processes across multiple campuses to ensure efficiency and consistency
  • Oversee the timely and accurate processing of FAFSA applications, award packages, verifications, disbursements, and reconciliations
  • Optimize financial aid systems, tools, and workflows to enhance operational effectiveness
  • Student-Centric Approach

  • Foster a culture of excellent customer service by ensuring timely communication and support for students and families
  • Work with campus leadership to develop financial literacy programs that support student success and retention
  • Monitor and address student inquiries or escalated concerns in a professional and solutions-focused manner
  • Collaboration and Strategic Initiatives

  • Collaborate with campus leaders, enrollment management, and other departments to align financial aid processes with recruitment and retention goals
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to the executive team for continuous improvement
  • Support the development of new programs and initiatives that align with institutional growth
  • Budget and Reporting

  • Oversee the financial aid department budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
  • Monitor and forecast financial aid disbursements to maintain regulatory compliance and institutional financial health
  • Analyze trends and prepare regular reports for executive leadership regarding financial aid performance and compliance
  • Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Higher Education Administration, Finance or a related field required
  • Five to Eight years’ experience in a student financial aid leadership role, preferably in a multi-campus, for-profit college environment
  • Expert knowledge of Title IV programs, federal / state regulations, and accreditation standards
  • Proven experience managing audits, program reviews, and complex compliance matters
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of staff development and operational success
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Experience with financial aid software systems and technology tools (e.g., Anthology, CampusVue, Banner, or similar)
  • Certificates, License, Registrations
