GENERAL SUMMARY
Programs, repairs, and maintains various robotic equipment. Participates in the installation and planning of equipment upgrades. Provides technical/maintenance support for machining and assembly, die cast, and building maintenance. As part of the Operations Support team, participates in the attainment of department and company goals and demonstrates Spartan’s Core Operating Values through work activities, actions and behaviors.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Listed in order of time-spent or importance) Includes the following, but not limited to:
1. Installs or replaces robots. Programs robots as required to run new jobs. Changes robot programs as requested.
2. Saves robot programs to network storage to keep relatively recent program updates safe.
3. Monitors robots to ensure they are operating correctly, such as ladle not spilling metal and extractor gripping part correctly.
4. Provides assistance in setting up robot gripper spacers at die changes.
5. Troubleshoots, orders parts, and repairs robots and related equipment.
6. Handles DCM plc program and Pro-Link changes.
7. Maps I/O between DCM plc, cell plc, HMI, and robots. Makes changes to HMI devices as required.
8. Installs casting marking Telesis units and other equipment such as Central Melt shaker scale and laser metal level sensor.
9. Participates in the planning process for equipment upgrades.
10. Works with IT department on data collection and monitoring.
11. Provides assistance to die cast maintenance, M&A maintenance and building maintenance as required.
12. Contributes to and supports the existence of a positive work environment through personal involvement by communicating, interacting and behaving in a manner that promotes productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and others with whom such relationships are important to the success of company operations.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required: High School/GED and 2 years related experience
Preferred: Degree and/or Certificate in related field
