JOB TITLE: Machining and Assembly Maintenance Technician
LOCATION: Sparta

GENERAL SUMMARY
Fabricates and/or repairs precision fixtures, gages, shop aids, and replacement parts to support production operations. Demonstrates Spartan’s core operating values through work activities, actions and behaviors.
Fabricates and/or repairs precision fixtures, gages, shop aids, and replacement parts to support production operations. Demonstrates Spartan’s core operating values through work activities, actions and behaviors.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
1. Performs all die repair activities in the tool room and at the die cast machine.
2. Reviews and understands blueprints and specifications for machined and/or fabricated parts with special focus on stamping die components.
3. Determines the sequence of steps to follow in production of the product and plan the production process, including where and how to cut the work piece, the correct tools and materials for the job.
4. Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated, as required.
5. Operates CNC lathe to turn components.
6. Performs precise cutting of tooling, and uses various gages and micrometers as required.
7. Troubleshoots and follows-through with solution to problems.
8. Contributes to and supports the existence of a positive work environment through personal involvement by communicating, interacting and behaving in a manner that promotes productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and others with whom such relationships are important to the success of company operations.
9. Performs other duties as assigned

Required:
• High School/GED
• 3 years related tool room experience
• Solid experience in operating a variety of manual and CNC controlled machinery to produce precision parts and components to exact specifications
