Environmental Technician

Job Description:

Spartan Specialty Services, Inc. is seeking eager applicants for our Environmental Technician position in New Castle, PA. Applicants should be a hardworking, responsible, and dedicated individuals that can work alongside our Environmental team with various tasks at the office and on remote job sites. This position will report to the New Castle, PA office and may work there all day or may have to travel to remote jobsites with company vehicles to perform daily tasks.

The Environmental Technician job duties include but are not limited to: conduct various recordkeeping tasks, assist with waste disposal documentation, manifesting, conduct various on-site environmental inspections, assisting and ensuring facilities stay within various environmental regulations, vehicle and warehouse maintenance, operate various vehicles/equipment including small and medium size box trucks, load and transport various materials such as waste drums, and communicate with customers and peers to ensure jobs get completed with satisfaction. You will gain experience around many different types of industry and workplace settings, while learning valuable regulations, skills, and knowledge that are applicable to all industries.

Musts:

Ability to work hard,be punctual, and be an independent thinker

Be resourceful, respectable and trustworthy

Retain a Valid drivers license with reliable transportation

Ability to lift 50 pounds or more consistently

Must pass drug test and background screening and necessary physical fitness test

Be able to pass physical to obtain DOT medical card

Pluses:

Environmental or related degree

Environmental field experience

General mechanical knowledge/understanding

Ability to operate small equipment such as skid loader, mini excavator, etc.

DOT medical card

OSHA training

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
