Job Summary
As an Engineer II in our Robot Software Department, you will work on algorithms and systems used for mapping, planning and localization, free space estimation, object detection and classification, and sensor calibration.
As a core team member, you will be responsible for taking responsibility for individual subsystems or features in our perception pipeline during a particular stage of development and following it through to the next.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design of algorithms robust to sensor and actuation uncertainty, not just the use of existing algorithms and packages.
- This should include implementation on real-world hardware and embedded systems
- Working from a set of requirements to develop a specified algorithm, capability, or feature
- Executing and assisting in writing tasking pertaining to areas of responsibility
- Testing and documenting your work, including all trades and design considerations made
- Working with data fusion and scene analysis pipelines

Qualifications
Required Skills:
- C/C programming experience
- CUDA programming experience
- Requirements-driven development
Minimum Experience Requirements:
- 2 years of experience
- Understanding of sensor models and calibration methods
- Experience with geometry-based Computer Vision approaches such as Structure from Motion, Stereo Vision, SLAM, Visual Odometry
- Experience with point cloud-based detection and classification algorithms such as free space detection and obstacle detection
- C/C programming experience
Preferred Experience Requirements:
- Experience writing custom CUDA kernels
- Prototyping real-time applications on embedded hardware
- Experience with software configuration management systems (git, SVM, etc.)
- Experience working with autonomous robots
- Experience with commercial software deployment and support
- Algorithm lifecycle development from requirements through QA and field release
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
Preferred Education Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
Salary : $100,000 - $160,000
