What are the responsibilities and job description for the Winder position at Spartan Tool?
-Set up and operate wire winding machines to produce various diameter and lengths of sewer-cleaning cable.
-Make changes to the specific program that is running when needed to assure proper diameter and length of cable.
-Determine when tools need to be sharpened, replace dull or broken tools.
-Use cable puller machine to do first piece inspection to test cable for proper tension, and then first piece on every new spool of wire.
-Report all unusual conditions or defective materials to your supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned. Observe all safety regulations. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
Job Requirements
-Use micrometer and gauges to check dimensions and maintain specified tolerances.
-Work from blueprints, work orders and specification sheets.
-Be able to stand for an entire shift (8 – 10 hours).
-Be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
-Able to use hand/ air/ and power tools.
Willing and able to work overtime as needed.
