Position Summary
An Occupational Health RN Team Leader coordinates and manages the occupational health services on-site at a company/industry through SRHS’ Nurse-At-Work Program. The OHN collaborates with workers, employers, and other professionals to: identify health needs, prioritize interventions, develop, implement, and maintain programs for service care and delivery. The practice focuses on promotion, protection and restoration of workers’ health within the context of a safe and healthy work environment. The foundation for occupational health nursing practice is research-based with an emphasis on optimizing health, preventing illness and injury and reducing health hazards.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Registered nurse in South Carolina
Experience
- Previous Occupational Health Experience
License/Registration/Certifications
- COHN/COHN-S is expected as soon as employee is eligible to sit for the exam
Preferred Requirements
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s in Nursing
Preferred Experience
- 2-5 years of Occupational Health Experience
Preferred License/Registration/Certifications
- COHN, COHN-S
Core Job Responsibilities
- Adhere to all SRHS Standards of Behavior and policies
- Perform and manage surveillance programs to include hearing tests, pulmonary function tests, vision tests, drug/alcohol testing and others as needed
- Perform proficient phlebotomy skills
- Document and maintain patient charts either electronically or manually
- Maintain any and all reporting requested by client and/or SRHS
- Maintain all control logs to include refrigerator temperature, point of care testing controls, calibrations of instruments
- Evaluate and treat work-related injuries
- Provides excellent customer service to contracted client, patients, and others involved in the care and treatment of the injured worker
- Keep all emergency supplies stocked and up to date
- Assist with case management of injured worker
- Provide health education and evaluate personal illness within RN scope
- Provide emergency treatment and stabilization for injured worker’s
- Provide emergency stabilization for non-work related injuries per standing orders
- Maintain all permits to include Non-Dispensing Drug Permit, CLIA Waiver, Infectious Waste Permit
- Manage and lead any employers assigned
- Provides training and educational programs
- Works as an ambassador for SRHS
- Other duties as assigned
