What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN-Occupational Therapist - Restorative Care position at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System?
The Skilled Nursing Unit at the Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care is a licensed 25-bed, skilled nursing facility, designed to meet the needs of patients who have had an in-patient hospital stay and require short-term, skilled nursing and/or skilled rehabilitation services. Providing skilled care since 2006, the Skilled Nursing Unit combines a positive, caring environment with an innovative and effective rehabilitation program to help patients reach their maximum level of recovery to return home.
The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients by referral. They plan treatment programs and performs therapy to restore function, prevent disability, and maximize the potential and quality of life following disease, injury or surgery. The Occupational Therapist completes reassessments according to regulatory requirements. He/she may delegate treatments to COTAs and performs re-evaluations and supervisory visits per state practice act. He/she appropriately modifies treatment plans and procedures and uses appropriate communication techniques to achieve optimal results. He/she may supervise COTAs, Rehab Techs, and students. He/she participates in community presentations, staff education, and other departmental activities as requested by the supervisor, manager, or director.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- BS in Occupational Therapy
License/Registration/Certifications
- CPR-AHA BLS
- SC OT License
- Registered with NBCOT

- MS in Occupational Therapy
Preferred Experience
- One to five (1-5) years clinical experience
