The Vice President of Operations is a key member of the leadership team at SparTek Industries.

Ensure customer satisfaction through the innovative design and on-time shipping of quality products and by providing trained and skilled service resources for on-site service and installation.

Ensure achievement of company growth and profitability goals by managing costs and assuring the availability of required resources. Optimize the value proposition through the identification and implementation of cost-effective design and production strategies and practices.

As a member of the executive team, develop and lead the implementation of company objectives, direction and strategies, with an ongoing focus of continuous improvement across all functional areas.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Direct the efforts of the Operations organization (engineering, production, materials management, project management, installation and service) to produce quality products on time and on budget.
  • Build strong customer relationships, working with sales to deliver “best of class” solutions to secure new projects.
  • Support the organization in the development and execution of accurate estimates and forecasts for all CE projects.
  • Manage financial tracking and reporting for various revenue streams of the business.
  • Coordinates production activities with engineering and materials management, to optimize utilization of labor, materials and expenses on all projects and product orders.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive planning and scheduling process and tool set.
  • Oversee the development of company and individual Key Performance Initiatives (KPI’s) tracking achievement through utilization of Key Performance Metrics (KPM’s).
  • Manage operational capacity and expenses consistent with sales demands and budget constraints of the business.
  • Develop and train supervisors and staff to handle the needs of a growing
  • Reviews production and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Lead the development of new and expanded product platforms. This will involve research and development and design of prototypes, to then be converted into standard product templates.
  • Establish priorities and goals for each department that support the achievement of overall company goals.
  • Serve as the Company leader of both Quality and Safety.
  • Foster communication and cooperation between all functions and departments.
  • Be the leader in promoting a culture of fun, success and discipline. Be an effective spokesperson and champion for the business.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages company’s operations organization overseeing 30 - 40 employees (Engineering, Production, Materials, and Service). Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these functions. Carries out leadership and managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's plans, policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical and business management skills.
  • A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering is required.
  • Seven to ten years’ management experience in manufacturing, materials, engineering and project management is required
  • Strong understanding of financial management through the utilization of ERP systems as the tool set for managing the operation of the business.
  • Experience with good manufacturing practices, strategic and tactical planning and budgeting are a must.
  • Leadership experience in an OEM process machinery and/or automation systems environment preferred.
  • Wood products industry experience a plus but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year

Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
