JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant

Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of accounting transactions
- Assist in performing various accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts receivable, account payable, treasury, journal entries, financial reporting, etc.
- Prepare and manage account reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
- Support financial audits including documentation retention, procedure requests, etc.
- Monitor and document internal controls
- Maintain documentation of all accounting processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures including GAAP
- Monitor inventory and assist with any physical inventory or cycle counting
- Assess and analyze costing of goods and BOMs
- Prepare variance reports including, but not limited to, budget variance, costs variance, quantity variance, etc.
- Assist in the management of Fixed Assets
- Partner and support Director of Finance/Accounting on ad hoc projects
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, CPA preferred
- 2-5 years of accounting experience, audit experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- High level of attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet assigned deadlines
- Effective and professional communication skills with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Extensive knowledge of MS Excel
Supervisory Responsibility
- No direct supervisory responsibilities at this time; however, room to inherit and/or build team
Physical Demands and/or Work Environment
- This is largely a sedentary role; however, some general office activities are required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, bending, standing, and walking as necessary.
- At times, this job may require visiting Company warehouse and lifting boxes of inventory; weight limit of 25lbs
- This job operates in an office environment on a hybrid schedule. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, & photocopiers
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although minimal out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
