We have three key business functions for which we have potential internship opportunities:
Product Engineering Intern
As a Product Engineering Intern, you will assist with production issues concerning existing product designs/SKUs. You will gain hands-on experience in creating technical documentation and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and visual aids.
• Support engineering teams with customer requests, product modifications, and design modifications
• Analyze test data and propose product enhancements.
• Work with design software to update schematics, layouts, and drawings.
• Provide support to product engineers during design validation and testing phases.
Process Engineering Intern
As a Process Engineering Intern, you will assist with optimizing the manufacturing processes for electronic products. This role will involve identifying process improvements, ensuring product quality, and supporting continuous improvement efforts within production.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in analyzing and improving production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Help develop and refine work instructions and process flow diagrams.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related issues.
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement Lean manufacturing principles.
• Conduct time and motion studies to assess process performance.
• Support the engineering team in the validation of new manufacturing processes.
• Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing defects and quality issues.
Manufacturing Operations Intern
The Manufacturing Operations Intern will gain exposure to day-to-day production activities, learning about the management of manufacturing schedules, materials, and workforce to ensure product delivery on time. This role offers a practical understanding of the production environment in an EMS company.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support production supervisors in monitoring production metrics and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Participate in daily production meetings and assist in identifying bottlenecks.
• Work with procurement and inventory teams to manage material flow and availability.
• Observe and assist in quality control processes, ensuring products meet specifications.
• Assist in preparing reports on production performance and capacity utilization.
• Support operations with safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
All Internships:
• Actively enrolled and pursuing an Associate, or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, or related field.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of process flow and manufacturing operations.
• GPA of 3.0 or better
General Skills for All Internships:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
