At Spartronics, the Engineering Technician role supports engineering processes that drive efficient production of electronic components/circuit boards for military, defense, and medical applications using surface mount and plated through-hole technology. Technicians will partner with Process engineers to focus on machine programming and general manufacturing with first pass quality.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new programs for machines used in manufacturing, including but not limited to: Surface Mount Equipment, Plated Through-Hole Equipment and Router/Depanel Machines
- Complete tasks and assignments within the Spartronics policies and procedures
- Support engineers with complex technical assignments and routine engineering tasks
- Review of new work instructions/visual aids for manufacturability
- Ensure all machine programs are in place prior to production runs
- Responsible for corrective actions associated with machine programs
- Assist in identification and resolution of equipment/process related defects by partnering with the machine operators
- Offer recommendations for process improvement purchasing/ordering tooling and controlling material inventory
- Develop and troubleshoot thermal profiles
- Assistance with New Product Introduction (NPI) process
- Assistance with Preventative Maintenance and repair activities
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- Associate degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience (3 years)
- Should be familiar with reading and manipulating multiple data formats
- Computer skills such MS Office, Aegis and Arena
Preferred:
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Able to work autonomously with good time management
- Understanding of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 desired

- Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- First Pass and False Call Yields
- Escape and Defect analysis
