At Spartronics, the Production Planner is a liaison between Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Program Management. The role’s primary responsibility is to develop production schedules for the Williamsport plant based on available material and labor capacity. This role will lead material review meetings each week to communicate shortages, priorities, or issues to Manufacturing and Program Management.
Primary or Major Responsibilities:
- Works with the Manager of Production Scheduling to create a Master Production Schedule (MPS).
- Manages and develops production plans based on customer demand.
- Review and release work orders to meet production plans ensuring adequate material quantities are available through the proper use of material profiles.
- Coordinate with Purchasing concerning purchase items that impact the MPS or Production Plan.
- Communicate all changes to the production schedule to the program managers, manufacturing, and manufacturing support functions, securing approvals and authorizations as required according to the production scheduling guidelines.
- Resolve obsolete/End-of-life part issues with the program managers and purchasing.
- Report, analyze, monitor, and disposition any excess material in conjunction/coordination with the program manager.
- Attend production status meetings as required.
- Work with online material ordering system.
- Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- All other duties as assigned.
Safety:
Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Provincial, and Company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, proper personal protective equipment is utilized.
Requirements
- Associate degree required in a relevant field, BA preferred
- Five (5) plus years of progressive experience in the production planning/master scheduling function(s).
- Effective communication skills both written and oral.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams
- Proficient with material resource planning systems and software.
