Special Education Teacher
Spaulding Academy & Family Services provides a place of healing and growth, with a focus on the whole child. Our year round, Monday through Friday, program is student centered, and trauma informed with special emphasis on social and emotional learning through programs such as Choose Love. Classrooms are small, with 8 to 10 students and a variety of ages in a non-traditional learning environment. Ours is a professional learning community, collaborative and open, with specific emphasis on staff development and growth in an environment focused on the value of each individual’s strengths, skills and experiences.
Requirements for the Special Education Teacher role includes:
Bachelor’s degree in education
NH Special Education Certification (K-12)
Applicants must be 21 years of age
Statement of Eligibility
Knowledge and skills:
Must have the ability and desire to teach special education students using learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth
Ability to teach multi-age, multi-grade, multi-subject.
Must be creative, participative and have excellent communication and customer service skills
Individuals in this role provides guidance and supervision to Associate Teachers, Paraeducators, Tutors, Student Teachers and other support staff, in the implementation of curriculum, IEPs, behavioral plans, communication and other activities to support our students in their growth and development.
