What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Concrete Finisher position at SpawGlass?
As our Concrete Finisher, you will support the civil infrastructure team with various concrete activities such as concrete pours, leveling, finishing, surface preparation, and maintenance/repairs. A successful candidate in this role should have previous experience with flat surface concrete projects, a professional work ethic, a teamwork mindset and the commitment to achieve the SpawGlass mission.
What You'll Do
You must be able to twist, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, climb stairs, walk on uneven ground, work above ground on scaffolds, have depth of perception to avoid excavations and other hazards, hear well enough to recognize the sounds of horns and sirens on moving equipment and have good finger manipulation. There is a constant lifting of 10 lbs., frequent lifting of 25 lbs. and maximum single person lifting of 50 lbs. For items over 50 lbs. get assistance from a co worker. Team members must be able to climb on light or heavy equipment, carry and use hand tools. There is standing up to seven hours of an eight-hour shift. Ability to work in outside temperatures from 25 - 115 degrees.

- Surface Preparation and Leveling: Skillfully prepare and level freshly poured concrete surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques to achieve smoothness and uniformity
- Texturing and Finishing: Apply various finishing techniques to achieve desired textures and appearances on concrete surfaces, ensuring aesthetic appeal and functionality
- Edge Finishing and Detailing: Expertly shape and smooth edges of concrete surfaces to prevent damage and enhance the overall finished appearance
- Quality Assurance and Safety: Maintain high standards of quality control to ensure finished concrete surfaces meet project specifications and safety standards, adhering to proper curing and sealing procedures for durability and longevity
- Previous concrete finishing experience on civil projects (e.g., parking lots, airport runways, parks and recreation, sports fields, etc.)
- Flexibility in your work schedule
- Strong decision-making, interpersonal and communication skills
