The Spay Neuter Assistance Program, Inc. (SNAP) is a South Texas 501(c)(3) charity which prevents the suffering and death of companion animals and enriches the human animal bond by providing excellent, accessible and affordable spay/neuter and veterinary care.
Animal Health Technician is a veterinary technician position, prior experience in a veterinary technician role required, LVT prefered. Your typical day as an animal health technician can include working with pet parents during the intake and discharge process for spay/neuter surgery, maintaining and cleaning the clinic facility and the pets spending the day at SNAP, supporting the veterinarians in surgery and wellness, scheduling appointments for surgery and educating pet parents on veterinary care. You should be proficient at educating clients on the core vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, heartworm testing and prevention and flea prevention. You should be proficient in endotracheal intubation, intravenous catheter placement and patient monitoring during anesthesia and recovery. At SNAP we focus on a positive team culture. By working together and communicating well we are able to safely and efficiently provide affordable spay/neuter and wellness services for 50-80 dogs and cats each day.
Full time team members are eligible for medical, dental and vision benefits, paid time off and holiday pay. Full time team members are scheduled for 11hr shifts 4 days per week, some Saturdays are required. Part-time team members are scheduled for 11 hr shifts 1 to 2 days per week.
