JOB SUMMARY:
Under minimal supervision, directs and coordinates the work of biomedical technicians, who repair, calibrate, maintain, and perform safety testing of all types of equipment, technologies, devices, instruments and systems.
ESSENTIALS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates and directs technicians; partnering with leadership to develop work standards.
- Assigns routine repairs, inspections, installations, and preventive maintenance to direct reports.
- Oversees completion of work orders and other documentation for direct reports; communicates feedback on performance, productivity, and service delivery to leadership.
- Repairs, installs, maintains, calibrates, and inspects a diverse range of therapeutic and diagnostic biomedical instrumentation and equipment in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections and electrical safety testing on equipment, devices, and systems on a routine basis.
- Diagnoses and correct system and equipment malfunctions.
- Maintains a high standard of customer service.
- Controls costs within budgetary guidelines.
- Maintains professional conduct at all times.
- Completes all required paperwork on new equipment inspections and equipment repairs and failures accurately and on time.
- Properly maintains company-issued equipment.
- Maintains appropriate communications within region/division and throughout the company with vendors, manufacturers, and customers.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures as well as government regulations.
- Develops and presents solution options to supervisors on critical issues.
- Partners with leadership and human resources to strategize and review human capital for the department.
- Supports leadership in all aspects of employee relations for assigned subordinates.
- Participates in pricing, contract review, and sales as needed in assigned region.
- Serves as primary point of contact for Accounting and other Administrative departments for billing, contract, and service delivery issues.
- Provides technical assistance and instruction on equipment operation and maintenance to personnel.
- Assumes additional responsibility as directed by the supervisor.
- Maintains expected productivity according to productivity and billing requirements.
Experience & Educational Requirements:
- 6 years Biomedical Technician experience
- 2 years supervisory or management experience; preferred
- CBET certification preferred
- Associate Degree in Biomedical Technology or related field
