Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years industrial / commercial Sheetmetal experience.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret documents. o Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. o Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations. o Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schematic form. o Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability a statistical inference, and fundamental of plane and solid geometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  
  

Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead work crews in Sheetmetal trade. Manages 2-6 employees.

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.

Essential Duties: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Follows all rules and procedures as required by SPC; ensures Sheetmetal staff follow procedures and policies.
• Communicates with contractors on various projects to ensure they achieve quality work in a timely manner.
• Communicates with SPC staff and provides feedback to staff regarding status of project.
• Instructs Sheetmetal staff in the techniques and procedures employed in the Sheetmetal trade.
• Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of the Sheetmetal staff engaged in the installation, modification, and/or repair of Sheetmetal systems.
• Inspects work upon completion to determine that staff followed the necessary operations and that work conforms to specifications.
• Acts as a working supervisor in cutting, assembling and installing ductwork. This includes:
• Single and double wall round and flat oval spiral o Flanged, standing S, slip and drive rectangular o Round snaplock and flexible duct
• Capable of sealing duct to achieve specified duct sealing requirements o Good understanding of the duct pressure classifications
• Capable of performing HVAC air duct leakage test with little assistance o Ability to field measure and order duct. o Assist with daily reports.
