To succeed in this role, you should be capable of managing various tasks daily to ensure our operations run smoothly. Ultimately, your responsibility will be to ensure that our buildings are safe, clean, and welcoming for all potential adopters, clients, and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Inspects and maintains the cleanliness of all buildings and grounds, initiates, and follows through on light repairs and janitorial duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and first-class environment throughout all outdoor campus areas of the property.
- Maintains grounds and facilities by pressure washing buildings, sidewalks, and awnings, changing light bulbs, and A/C filters, operating a blow pack to blow off entryways, sidewalks, and parking lots, and the use of landscaping hand tools while using all applicable safety regulations.
- Transports, disposes of or relocates office equipment and furniture.
- Assists and participates in renovations, additions, and office changes as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Ensures roofs and vehicles have updated inspections.
- Upkeep of the fleet of vans/ vehicles including washing and cleaning of the fleet. Maintaining the fleet ready to be driven. Maintains a schedule Log of completed maintenance for the fleet of vans.
- Works safely and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure personal safety for self and others both in buildings and on the grounds.
- Stocks and maintains the inventory of janitorial supplies on the campus.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned, including, set up and breakdown of events, and provides ongoing assistance for whatever may arise.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; 5 years of relevant facilities’ experience in a similar type of environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the specific requirements may be substituted.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Proficient with computers and the ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications and the Internet.
- Communicates effectively both in writing and orally with all levels of employees and vendors.
- Excels in interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Consistently well-organized.
- Successfully multi-tasks
- Competence in mechanical skills
- Ability to perform physical work including scrubbing, mopping, lifting, walking, and bending.
- Ability to stand on feet for 8 hours a day.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds consistently
