This position supervises/manages: None

Summary of Essential Job Tasks:
• Care for, feed, monitor, medicate, and perform minor treatment on animals.
• Report observed health or behavior issues to Rescue Center Supervisor.
• Clean assigned areas on a daily basis.
• Keep current inventory of necessary program supplies and report shortages to Rescue Center Supervisor.
• Maintain assigned equipment, supplies and vehicles in safe condition and report any problems or needed repairs to the Rescue Center Supervisor.
• Protect the confidential information on customers and donors.
• Protect sensitive information regarding animals under protective custody to ensure successful outcomes.
• Represent the SPCA of Texas by providing excellent customer service and focus.
• Report to work at assigned start time; go to/return from breaks and lunch at assigned times; leave work at assigned quitting time.
• Actively engage with volunteers in such a way that provides support for our volunteers and staff and proactively improves our volunteer program.
• Be an ambassador for the SPCA of Texas, sharing the work and mission with your friends and family and be knowledgeable of the various ways to support our work.
• Additional tasks assigned by Rescue Center Supervisor.
• The individual performing this job may be required to operate an SPCA of Texas vehicle and perform driver duties as directed if the individual meets the SPCA’s requirements to become a driver. To be eligible, the individual must be 21 years old to meet insurance requirements and must be qualified and licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Texas.

Abilities Required:
• Static Strength: the ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 40 pounds.
• Judgment and Decision Making: the ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
• Oral and Written Expression: the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
• Monitoring: the ability to monitor and assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
• Emotional and Mental Requirements: the ability to work effectively under stressful conditions. Ability to rapidly and accurately process information.

Applicant Information:
• The individual performing this job may be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.


Normally scheduled 5 days per week, 8 hours per day between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
