Overview: SPCA Tampa Bay is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to manage the cleanliness of our office building. Although the role is based in the office areas of our shelter, it does not involve direct contact with animals. The Custodian will play a key role in ensuring a professional and sanitary environment for our administrative staff.
Monday - Friday, 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, with the possibility of an additional hour one day per week.
Position Type: Part-Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize office areas, including workstations, meeting rooms, restrooms, and break rooms.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
- Replenish supplies in restrooms and kitchen areas, such as paper products and soap.
- Maintain cleanliness of office furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling in accordance with shelter policies.
- Conduct minor maintenance tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs and addressing minor repairs.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and custodial equipment.
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in the housekeeping or custodial industry.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience in a custodial role within an office building or similar environment.
- Familiarity with cleaning methods, equipment, and supplies.
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to cleaning and minor maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
