Kennel Attendant

SPCA Westchester is looking for animal lovers who are comfortable cleaning up after animals!

Kennel Attendants are responsible for cleaning all animal dwellings, indoor and outdoor, and animal-related rooms in our Rescue Center. This is a cleaning position that involves some animal interaction. This role has potential for growth in the kennel or enrichment department.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning animal facilities and housing, including indoor and outdoor kennels, cages, and floors.
• Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in animal prep, storage, and enrichment rooms.
• Clearing and cleaning of indoor and outdoor kennel drains and drain basins.
• Deep cleaning animal transportation vehicles.
• Restocking animal rooms with supplies, as needed.
• Laundry, garbage, and other cleaning duties as assigned.
• Walking easy going dogs.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• GED or equivalent.
• Possess a strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment.
• Punctual and dependable with reliable transportation, including in inclement weather.
• Requires bending, twisting, and ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
• Tolerance to loud noises and animal waste.

Starting Salary: $16.50 an hour

Schedule: Saturday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm OR Sunday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, both weekend days are not required.
