What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at SPD Ventures?
A Maintenance Technician will be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around our apartment communities. Some tasks a Maintenance Technician may be called upon to do include, and is not limited to:
- Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair.
- Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
- Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
- Repairing/eliminating potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
- Painting the apartments when old paint has become faded or chipped.
- Replacing flooring when needed.
- Assisting and/or leading remodel projects that can involve new cabinetry, drywall/paneling and flooring.
- Responding to tenant maintenance requests in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical and other systems.
- Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including but not limited to hand tools and hand-held power tools.
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and household devices.
- Outstanding verbal communication skills.
- Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn and advance in your career.
