General Manager - The Forge Handcrafted Pizza, Napa
Speak Cheezy Pizzeria is a sourdough pizzeria in the Heart of Belmont Heights, Long Beach. We recently have been recognized as one of the best pizzerias in America by the Washington Post. And pride ourselves in using generational producers and high-quality ingredients. We are looking for a General Manager who is creative and excellent at managing all of the functions in a popular, quality, and chef-driven pizzeria, which requires a guest-first attitude, innovation, attention to detail, sound management skills, and a profit-oriented professional. Who will certainly build, train, and maintain an effective staff, while serving discerning patrons focusing on customer satisfaction and loyalty, and delivering to ownership and the community a brand to be proud of.
General Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of all restaurant employees daily, ensuring policies and processes are being followed and inspecting operational flow continuously.
- Responsible for the hiring, onboarding, and continuous training of employees.
- Partner with the chefs to create and innovate systems and culinary development. .
- Responsible for overseeing service on busy days; ensuring the team stays on task and delegating assignments as needed.Delegating cleaning tasks.
- Ensure guest satisfaction; interact with guests and engage in service recovery when issues arise.
- Responsible for the restaurant’s cash management; including maintaining petty cash, checkbooks, and making weekly deposits.
- Ensure all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
- Ensure that all food and beverages are consistently prepared and served according to presentation standards and recipes.
- Be proactive in reaching our Company goals in sales, service, and appearance; while creating a positive, fun, and productive working environment
- Labor management; creating and adjusting schedules as necessary to meet business needs and financial targets.
- Participate in marketing initiatives; implement marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and drive sales while continuously evaluating and implementing strategies to improve the customer experience and drive business growth.
- Responsible for execution of all catering contracts, taking all appropriate steps to ensure BEO is adhered to and guests’ expectations are met.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Health standards, maintaining superior cleanliness and sanitation throughout the restaurant.Identify potential safety hazards and initiate corrective action; ensuring the restaurant is safe for both employees and guests.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and licensing requirements.Facilitate meetings and training's covering a variety of training and policy topics.
- Exceed ownership expectations.
General Manager Qualifications:
- Minimum one year General Manager experience in a pizzeria or restaurant required.
- Experience with POS, scheduling, Toast a plus.
- Candidate must have proven leadership skills and must be able to manage, develop, and motivate a highly performing staff.
- Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment while effectively delegating tasks.
- Ability to make informed decisions based on data analysis and financial metrics.
- Understanding of food service operations, including menu planning and kitchen management
- Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Passion for food, hospitality, and providing an efficient service while exceeding guest expectations.
- Must be proficient with computers and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Serve Safe certified food manager preferred.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to lift / carry items up to 40 lbs. and push / pull items up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods of time, with frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching overhead.
- Must be willing to work 52.5 to 55 hours a week. Pay from 70k a year to 75k.
