Bilingual Maintenance Supervisor (Direct Hire)

Job Overview: Our client is seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) Maintenance Supervisor to join their team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance within a food manufacturing environment. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of production by managing maintenance efforts, developing preventive maintenance programs, and leading a team of technicians and mechanics.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and develop technician and mechanic skills.
• Develop and enforce compliance with the Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Plan and schedule maintenance efforts in line with production demands.
• Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve unscheduled production interruptions.
• Identify and order necessary repair parts.
• Develop and manage the maintenance budget.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Conduct interviews for technician and mechanic positions, and recommend hiring decisions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, programs, and procedures, and maintain discipline, recommending corrective actions when necessary.
  
  

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the food industry.
• 2 years of experience as a lead or maintenance supervisor.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate employees.
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.
• Familiarity with GMP and safety regulations.
• Must be able to complete and pass a skills assessment.
• Must be bilingual in Spanish.
