Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer to join their Quality Team in New Hudson, MI. This role is crucial in developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive quality assurance program. You'll be working closely with various specifications and standards to ensure compliance in the design, manufacture, procurement, and supply of items and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve drawings, routings, requisitions, specifications, procedures, supplier certifications, and quality inspection plans.
- Translate customer, regulatory, and code requirements into actionable supplier instructions.
- Conduct supplier oversight activities, including surveillance, commercial grade surveys, and audits.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies with suppliers using FMEA and Control Plans.
- Actively participate in resolving quality issues and provide necessary information for audits and regulatory inspections.
- Coordinate with vendors, regulatory agencies, and internal/external customers to ensure compliance.
- Travel approximately 25% of the time as needed.
What You Bring:
- US Sole Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Preferred experience in regulated industries such as Nuclear Power, Navy Nuclear, Aerospace, Transportation, or Biotech.
- Certifications such as Lead Auditor, Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt / Master Black Belt, and ASQ certifications are a plus.
