What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Tech position at Speaking Rock Entertainment Center?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist Production Director with technical needs for concerts and events
2. Review layouts of events and coordinate strategies to best setup events in a timely manner
3. When necessary, operate a sound, lighting or video console for events.
4. Generate plans for equipment that will be used for concerts or events.
5. Maintain and keep all equipment working at peak performance.
6. Inform the Director of equipment that needs replacement or service.
7. Communicate with local artists for daily entertainment.
8. Setup, Mic, and control Audio levels for all local entertainment.
9. Assist the director in maintaining a safe venue for all shows and events.
10. Make Speaking Rock concerts the Bigger and Better.
11. Other duties as assigned by Production Director/C.E.O.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Must be highly organized and have great communication skills. Must also be familiar with the concert production industry, from terminology to equipment operation. Must be able to multitask, from running a console, to setting up multiple bands on a single stage. Must be familiar with musical instruments and backline needs. Must be able to trouble shoot problems or have problem solving skills to resolve various issues that may occur during a concert or event. Skills to learn and adapt to whatever may change during events, and utilize problem solving skills to find quick solutions. Must be able to understand computer programs that help design and create shows and events. Extended knowledge of audio, video and lighting systems. Above all, common sense is key.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Two years of Post-secondary education preferred, or 2 years of related experience or training. Bi-lingual English/ Spanish preferred. Must have knowledge of audio, video and lighting consoles. Must have knowledge of various audio, video and lighting systems. Must have hands on experience in various types of events/concerts or shows. Must be culturally sensitive to minority population especially Native Americans; must be able to successfully pass a post-offer drug screen and criminal history background check. Excellent written and verbal communication and possess excellent customer service skills for dealing with diverse patrons. Must be able to work well under pressure. Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule to include 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on-call, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use good manual and finger dexterity, handle or feel objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift minimum of 50 pounds. Must be able to utilize moving equipment. Must be able to work in haze/Fog/Smokey conditions. Employee must be able work in Flashing lights and Louder than normal conditions. Must be able to work long hours/shifts for events.
