Cardiac Sonographer
The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing all diagnostic echocardiography procedures in a timely manner. Performs procedures according to physician’s order in patient’s chart. As a member of the care team, the Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for working collaboratively with other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of patient care.
*Performs Adult Echocardiograms and Stress Echo Tests.
*Maintains and develops own professional competency.
*Participates in cross-training program for Cardiology.
*Schedules daily in-patients and out-patients for ECHO’s, EKG's, Stress Tests
*Assists in patient education.
*Maintains all appropriate equipment and machinery within the department reporting any abnormalities to the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services.
* Prepares, copies and files all appropriate tests and other reports in accordance with policies and procedures
- Qualifications:
- Education
Required: Graduate of Allied Health Degree Program or Completion of an AMA Echocardiography Program
Preferred:
- Work Experience
Required: 1-3 years as a Cardiac Sonographer.
Able to perform Adult Echo’s and Stress Echo Tests
Preferred: Able to perform contrast and agitated saline Echo exams: EKG’s, Stress tests and Holter Monitors
- Licensure/Certifications/Registrations
Required: Registry eligible or Current Registry in Adult Echocardiography, ARDMS RDCS
NH State Medical Imaging License
Maintain CPR/BLS Certification
