What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Paraprofessional position at Spearman ISD?
Gus Birdwell Elementary is accepting applications for the following non-certified paraprofessional position: General Education Elementary Paraprofessional for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year.
Applicant must have the ability to communicate effectively in both English & Spanish is preferred, but not required. In addition, applicant must have: (1) high school diploma or GED; and (2) must be "highly qualified". To be considered "highly qualified" applicant must meet one of the following: (a) completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of high education (as verified by a college transcript); (b) obtained an associates degree; (c) have met a standard of quality as demostrated through a rigorous five days of academic training and assessment.
The District's contributes $400 per month towards applicants health insurance. Applicant must undergo a FBI Fingerprinting and criminal history check before they can begin employment.
Primary Purpose:
Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing of classroom activities
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Work with individual students or small groups
2. Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays
3. Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments
4. Help maintain neat and orderly classroom
5. Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside the classroom; includes lunchroom, bus and playground duty
Salary : $400
