Your Role
The Senior Director/VP of Financial Planning & Analysis is a senior management position reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and supporting the entire senior leadership team. The Sr. Director/VP of FP&A is an innovative and strategic thinker with a proven ability to use data and financial models to drive insights and is adept at managing ambiguity and multiple priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the monthly financial reporting and consolidation process
- Own the annual budgeting and planning process and weekly and monthly forecasting as appropriate
- Collaborate with Finance colleagues, ensuring alignment of timely and accurate financial statements
- Be a hands-on, dynamic individual contributor with the ability to build and train a team to match the needs of the business as it grows
- Provide strategic financial guidance and analysis to support decision-making processes within the organization
- Prepare analyses and presentations that ensure strategic messages are effectively and appropriately communicated to members of the senior leadership, board members, and other stakeholders as appropriate
- Partner with the senior leadership to evaluate strategic initiatives, investment opportunities, and business development activities through financial modeling and analysis. Support M&A activities.
- Develop processes that enhance senior leader financial stewardship that supports the company’s growth and enhances profitability
- Design and oversee financial and operational metrics to drive decision-making across the company
- Create management tools and variance analyses to provide insights into business performance
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business performance and drive operational improvements
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital optimization, and liquidity analysis to support the company's financial health and growth objectives
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 15 years of progressive finance leadership experience, with a focus on FP&A, within a government contracting environment
- Proven leadership experience, including the ability to mentor and develop team members
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and variance analysis
- Ability to foresee opportunities, anticipate challenges, develop financial strategies, and implement plans to evaluate and optimize business results
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization - cross-functional teams, senior leaders and board members
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate financial analysis into actionable insights and recommendations
- Ability to proactively work with cross-functional leaders to build new capabilities and processes and support organizational growth and change management
- High level of initiative; organized, driven, and self-motivated; ability to roll up sleeves and work with the team
- Ability to work in a continuously changing business environment, comfortable working in ambiguity
- Expert-level skills with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, and a deep understanding of ERP systems and consolidation tools
- The position is on-site in our corporate offices in Huntsville, AL, with periodic travel to other locations as needed. Travel is less than 10%.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- MBA strongly preferred
- Previous experience with PE ownership is preferred
- Previous experience with consolidation, budgeting, and forecasting toolsets implementation
