What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Improvement (QI) Specialist/Investigator position at Special Citizens Futures Unlimited?
Salary: 50k-55k annually
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
The QI Specialist/Investigator ensures compliance with state, federal, and agency regulations by conducting incident investigations, preparing reports, assisting in internal audits, and supporting case management functions. This role requires attention to detail and collaboration with multiple departments.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct, coordinate, and document incident investigations.
- Review and provide recommendations on incident reports.
- Prepare and distribute incident packets and reports.
- Participate in internal audits and assist with corrective actions.
- Alert management to documentation and compliance risks.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Conduct staff compliance training.
- Ensure treatment plans comply with OPWDD regulations.
- Actively participate in assigned committees.
- Follow all compliance, HIPAA, and documentation standards.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Knowledge of OPWDD and Justice Center regulations.
- Experience working with the I/DD population.
- Strong organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Office, EHR software).
- Detail-oriented, self-driven, and team-oriented.
- Flexible with travel and working hours.
- AMAP, SCIP, CPR, and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain).
- Incident Investigator certification (or ability to complete within 4 months).
- Successful criminal background check and valid NYS driver’s license.
