SPEECH/LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

10 month position

The Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is now accepting applications for speech/language pathologist positions that are available within our division for the 2024 – 2025 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in Speech/Language, Speech Pathology, or Communication Disorder
• Hold or be eligible for an active license with a valid endorsement in speech language pathology issued by the Board of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP)
• Possess a professional understanding of speech/language disorders
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and ability to administer appropriate speech/language tests and support materials
• Demonstrate the ability to support students by cooperatively working with parents/guardians and teachers
• Have experience and expertise in using technology in education
• Have experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment
• Have experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
• Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
• Demonstrate the ability to work and collaborate with a team of other teachers
• Demonstrate an ability to be dependable and punctual

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with students with disabilities in preschool through high school
• Experience delivering speech therapy services within an inclusive environment

SALARY:  $51,475.80 - $86,682.10 annually, with benefits - prorated to start date

• A one-time $5,000 retention bonus is available to candidates who commit to two years of work as a Speech Language Pathologist with MCPS.

• As certified Special Education staff members, all Speech Language Pathologists also receive an annual $1500 retention supplement.
