What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long Term Sub - Elementary Life Skills position at Special Education?
MSAD60 is looking for a certified special education teacher to lead a life skills classroom for students in grades K-3 at Hanson Elementary School. This teaching position works with and supports students who have academic needs, behavioral challenges, life skills needs, etc. A typical day could include: supporting students in small groups with individualized programming; supporting students individually as they de-escalate and process through their emotions; supporting students as they increase their independence with personal hygiene; etc.
In addition to supporting the education of students grades K-3, this position is an integral part of the Lebanon and Hansen Schools Special Education Team. This team of certified educators oversees several education technicians; provides professional development opportunities to the whole staff; support and mentor new special education teachers to the school/district; and seamlessly support each other’s needs and building needs throughout the day.
