Job Position and Title : ABA Trainer
Job Classification : Hourly Non-Exempt
Job Overview :
The ABA Trainer provides training to all new employees with a focus on internal programs such as Applied Behavior Analysis and to others in the field identified as needing additional support. This includes conducting situational training focused on SEC policies and procedures relevant to direct consumer care, child engagement strategies, and the principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Additionally, the trainer documents training activity and monitors training effectiveness. The ABA Trainer also ensures the correct implementation and facilitation of organizational wide training needed to support professional development across all departments. The ABA Trainer will conduct training for all centers.
Responsibilities :
- Illustrates SEC’s belief in the provision of high-quality services through both the articulation and the demonstration of operational aspects of training.
- Develops positive working relationships with all employees, and departments maintaining collaborative professional relationships at SEC.
- Provides coaching, modeling, and demonstration of specific strategies and / or activities to identified clinical staff members, including new and current behavior technicians and administrative staff.
- Facilitates organizational wide training for all departments and centers working with subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate and meaningful.
- Models’ skills throughout ongoing trainings, regularly articulating the connection between the demonstration and specific content from New Hire Training and SEC’s clinical department training.
- Tracks the training performance of staff members and reports to Lead Clinical Supervisor providing regular updates, metrics, results, and escalated items to the General Manager. Follow-up with the Human Resources department on trainee status within the first two weeks, 30 days, 60 days of hire. Provides on-site additional training needed for staff support among all 3 Special Explorers Centers.
- Provides specific feedback to trainees throughout the training process on their performance documenting status and providing direction on next steps as outlined by Lead Clinical Director
- Gives recommendations for staff development needs to Site Supervisors, Clinical Supervisors / BCBA’s and Case Managers to review and discuss with employees based on observations, competency tools, and SEC’s ABA Training Handbook.
- Reports the need for additional didactic training for specific areas with the new hire training and ensures additional trainings are scheduled and completed when needed.
- Documents observations of performance in the field on the Clinical Competency Checklist (CCC) for all behavior technicians at the two week, 30 and 60 day and saves on the employee file on SharePoint. Assists with career development training content, materials, job aids, and procedures.
- Assists in the creation of training tools and materials under the supervision of Lead Clinical Supervisor.
- Coordinates with Site Supervisors to ensure training is provided to all behavior technicians bimonthly or as needed on a routine basis.
- Oversees the follow up of new hires needing additional training and resources regarding SEC training & on-boarding policies and procedures.
- Models’ exemplary employee performance through own performance, professionalism, and appropriate communication outlined within SEC policies and procedures.
- Attends staff meetings, training courses, and other meetings as requested.
- Responsible to complete additional job duties as assigned by Lead Clinical Director and Operational Managers
- Attaining and achieving position competencies in relation to role responsibilities.
- Provides all Quality Behavior Solutions (QBS) training for new employees. Must be available to provide these trainings outside of the work week and be available as needed on the weekends. The trainer will track all QBS training and will be responsible for uploading the supporting documentation in SharePoint.
