Scope
The Preschool Teacher at Zach’s Place is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children with diverse needs. This role includes developing and implementing age-appropriate activities, fostering social and cognitive development, ensuring the well-being of each child, and collaborating with families and staff to support individual learning goals. This position is under the direct supervision of the Program Director and Center Managers.

$19/HR, DOE; full-time – non-exempt position

- Maintain accurate documentation, including medication logs, incident reports, and daily check-ins, while communicating center needs to leadership.
- Utilize and continually develop positive behavior support strategies to encourage progress and engagement.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team to uphold high standards for safety, cleanliness, and program excellence
- Engage in recreational and educational experiences that enhance each child’s development.
- Be adaptable and ready to assist in various areas to ensure the best possible experience for the children.
- Other duties as needed to support the success of the program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least two years of experience providing direct care, preferably with children with special needs, is preferred.
- Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to work independently in the community, including transporting children and facilitating community-based activities, while meeting agency standards for independent work.
- Availability to work some weekend days per month
- Experience in roles such as CNA, Behavior Support Specialist, Paraprofessional, or Home Health Worker is a plus.
- CPR, First Aid, & Universal Precautions certification required within 30 days of hire (training provided by SKSF).
- Valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance required.
