Position Summary: Running the CNC using the shop sheets provided to do the required preps on the door. Ensuring Special-Lite quality is met. Maintaining the scheduled PM’s on the machine.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Review shop sheets for correct door panel information
Maintain visual acceptance criteria
Follow process instructions
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Loading door onto CNC in the correct orientation
Place assembled door on cart
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Basic computer skills
Identify job numbers, sheet numbers, and door handing
Load correct job program and door program
Use the laser to place pods so that they accommodate the door being loaded and out of the way of the CNC tool paths
Ability to read and understand templates so that the operator can use the laser projected on the door to check hardware locations and verify correct hardware has been programmed for the door
Able to do basic math when needed to change work offsets so that the crucial depths are reached for certain hardware preps like faceplates and butt hinges
Using measuring equipment, calipers, depth micrometer, and tape measure
Change cutting tools and setting the tool lengths properly
The use of basic hand tools such as drills, hammers, and chisels
Square up the corners on preps that are required to have them while maintaining aesthetic quality
Verifying that the size, handing, hardware preps, hardware prep locations, and finishing of the door are up to Special-Lite standards
Organizational, communication and listening skills
Follow the company’s policies, all safety policies and procedures and work in a manner so as not to create a health and safety hazard to oneself and coworkers
Use forklift to move or obtain required product
Make minor repairs to doors
May be rotated to other positions inside the company to meet production requirements
Primary Physical Requirements:
Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate equipment, and products.
Frequently required to communicate
Required to occasionally stand and walk
Required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 80 Lbs. with help
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Required Safety Equipment:
Safety glasses are always required on the production floor
Steel toe shoes are required on the production floor
Hearing protection is required in designated areas
