Position Summary: Responsible for ensuring that all requested equipment, material, services and supplies are negotiated, purchased and received following company guidelines, policies and/or requirements.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, oversees and evaluates the purchasing activities and budget of the organization.
- Negotiates major purchases, develops blanket or master agreements with suppliers and engages in all aspects of contract management.
- Develops and manages the organization’s purchasing policies, procedures, standards, and strategies in order to ensure process transparency, fairness, impartiality and confidentiality.
- Regularly investigates new sources of materials and services.
- Collaborates with appropriate personnel regarding contingency planning for key component suppliers.
- Develops and manages the proposal, bidding, and negotiation process, while adhering to applicable legal standards and codes of ethical conduct.
- Reviews supplier financial statements/reports and evaluates overall supplier health and risk.
- Identifies, qualifies, and selects vendors of materials, equipment, products, or services, and conducts overall supplier management.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or a related field or equivalent education and experience.
- From time to time, required to work extended hours and have flexibility with work schedule.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills demonstrated the ability to work both independently and as a team.
- Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and respond to changing business demands.
Primary Physical Requirements:
- Works in a traditional office environment.
- Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate office equipment, and reach with hands and arms.
- Required to talk and hear.
- Required to occasionally stand and walk.
- Occasionally required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 20lbs
Required Safety Equipment:
- Safety glasses are always required on the production floor.
- Hearing protection is required in designated areas.
