Position Summary : The Solutions Engineer supports the Sr. Technical Services Manager, Detailing, and Submissions by providing technical support. The technical support includes designing solutions and developing costing for configurations to customers and end users specific needs throughout the sales process. This engineer is also responsible for aiding customers and internal departments through the ordering process to ensure that projects comply with industry standards and building codes.

Providing technical expertise to customers through the sales process.
Understand our product and its functionality.
Determines initial cost of products or solutions.
Collaborating with the sales team to identify and qualify sales opportunities.
Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with internal and external customers.
Work with internal teams to ensure the successful implementation of solutions.
Ability to select and recommend hardware.
Apply knowledge of building codes and industry standards to projects.
Assist in moving rated product configurations through the front-end operations accurately.
Sources external components from vendors such as hardware and tools.
Work with manufacturing and R&D engineers.
Travels up to 25% to support trade shows, training, product promotion.
Maintains positive employee / employer relations, ensuring practices are fair and consistent with the Company philosophy; leads and models a positive employee culture.
Handle any special projects that are assigned.

Position Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or building construction from an accredited institution required.

Graduate Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Experience with Microsoft Office Applications.

Ability to design using AutoCAD and Inventor.

Exceptional math skills required.

Blueprint / schematic reading skills.

High energy with a sense of urgency.

Ability to work extended hours and flexible schedule to meet project goals.

Understanding of manufacturing procedures and practices; construction background is helpful.

Excellent motivational and leadership skills to inspire performance; highly motivated with a genuine drive to succeed.

5 years of experience in engineering, architecture, building construction, or a related field.

Primary Physical Requirements :

Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate office equipment, and reach with hands and arms.

Frequently required to talk and hear.

Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.

Required to occasionally stand and walk.

Occasionally required to lift, push, pull and / or move up to (50lbs)

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment :

Safety glasses are always required on the production floor.

Hearing protection is required in designated areas.

Occasionally subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electric current and exposure to heat and chemicals.

Occasionally subject to conditions including one or more of the following that affect the respiratory system or the skin : fumes, odors, dust, mists, or poor ventilation.

Occasionally exposed to cold, hot, wet and / or humid shop conditions.
