Job Overview Production Operator: Controls equipment and systems that process chemical substances and materials into products. Operates equipment and monitors the production process to ensure efficient and safe output. Follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed. Enters required production data and information into logs. May unload or move materials. Follows all procedures for safe material handling and required safety gear.
Responsibilities:
Follow safety procedures and use proper safety equipment (PPE) for all assigned tasks. Collaborate with EH&S to constantly implement Safety Improvement Solutions throughout the facility.
Ability to learn proper methods for handling hazardous materials and wastes, manufacturing processes with training.
Identify, gather, and weigh all necessary raw chemicals required to make various products.
Manufacture batches and maintain proper use of production equipment. Ensure inventory accuracy in accordance to established policies.
Review batch sheet specifications for blended products and weigh, measure, and check raw materials to ensure batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities.
Flush mixing tank properly, as needed, to prep for re-fill; perform clean up duties following each batch process.
Maintain a clean production area and equipment. Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed, and work area meets all requirements for good housekeeping.
Safely operate forklift and operator will be required to drive the Trailer spotting Tractor ”Yard Mule”.
Participate in safety programs and supervised training programs.
Experience:
High School Diploma/GED
Ability to learn, pay attention to detail, apply critical thinking, and common sense.
Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
Must be committed to working safely and producing high quality products.
