What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Pediatric Physical Therapist position at Special Needs Pediatric Therapy Services?
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide individualized physical therapy services to children with a wide range of developmental, neurological, and orthopedic conditions. You will collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children in your care.
- Assess and Evaluate: Conduct thorough physical assessments of pediatric patients to identify physical impairments, developmental delays, and functional limitations.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Create personalized therapy plans that align with each child's specific needs, goals, and abilities.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions using age-appropriate techniques and equipment to improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and overall function.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate with Families and Caregivers: Provide education and support to parents and caregivers, including home exercise programs and strategies to promote development outside of therapy sessions.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain Documentation: Ensure that all patient records, evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes are accurately documented and maintained in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Professional Development: Stay current on the latest pediatric therapy techniques and best practices, attending relevant workshops or courses as needed.
- Education: Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of Georgia
- Experience: Experience in pediatric physical therapy preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of pediatric development and common childhood physical conditions.
- NDT training highly preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Part-time position, PRN position with flexible hours, ideally a minimum of 8 hours/week, but up to 20 hours/week available.
